Machine Readable Coding Committee

BISAC's Machine Readable Coding Committee (MRC) drafts and maintains best practice recommendations for the structure and use of machine readable barcodes and identifiers.

The Committee is currently exploring the potential uses and issues associated with consumer readable symbology, including both one-dimensional EAN (UPC) codes and two-dimensional codes, especially matrix codes (e.g., Quick Response, or QR codes).
