Research Committee

The Research Committee fulfills one of BISG's primary missions - to conduct research and gather data on issues affecting the book industry - making this committee a driving force of BISG.

Charged with collecting and circulating data about the book industry, the Research Committee's mandate is to keep a finger on the pulse of what's driving the industry today.

The committee is responsible for producing the well-respected and authoritative annual TRENDS. The scope of this report requires that Research Committee members be able to liaise with several organizations including Fordham University's Trends Statistical Organization, the AAP statisticians, the AAUP, the US Census Bureau, and many others.

It is also the responsibility of this committee to initiate new industry and consumer studies that will assist both BISG membership and the book industry at large do business more effectively.
