Tom Clarkson
Director of Supply Chain Technology, Barnes & Noble, Inc.

Tom Clarkson is Director of Supply Chain Technology at Barnes & Noble, Inc. He is also Chair of the BISAC Machine Readable Coding Committee. His focus in both these roles is developing (or adapting) standards for product marking and shipping container labeling. He is also active in various other initiatives, internal and industry-wide, with the objective of lowering cost in the information product supply chain.

Mr. Clarkson joined Barnes & Noble in 1991. He has served as corporate EDI Coordinator, Director of Systems for Barnes & Noble Distribution, and Director of Fulfillment Systems for Barnes & Noble.com before assuming his present role.

Active in the work of BISAC since 1975, Mr. Clarkson has been Chair of BISAC, a member of the Machine Readable Coding Committee (1980), Chair of the BISAC Publicity committee, and BISAC EDI Coordinator.
