Al Garton is Director of General Merchandise and Apparel for GS1 US (formerly the Uniform Code Council). In this position, Mr. Garton is responsible for addressing GS1 US-related issues within the General Merchandise sector, which include book and magazine publishing, music products, recorded music, apparel, furniture and general merchandise. He works closely with these industries to promote GS1 solutions for global supply chain management. Prior to joining the GS1 US, Mr. Garton worked as an Apparel Buyer, Merchandise Manager and Store Manager for Strawbridge & Clothier in Philadelphia.
