Joseph Gonnella
VP of Inventory Management & Vendor Relations, Barnes & Noble, Inc.

As VP of Inventory Management & Vendor Relations for Barnes & Noble, Inc., Joseph Gonnella is responsible for optimizing the dollar investment in merchandise throughout both Barnes & Noble's network of real and virtual stores and outside distribution centers and suppliers.  His bookselling career began while in high school and he has been a Buyer and Merchandise Manager for Waldenbooks and a Marketing Director for Dell/Delecorte Press.  For the past 15 years he has held various positions at Barnes & Noble.

Mr. Gonnella, the son of a librarian, majored in Comparative Literature at Rutgers University.  He has been active in standards development throughout his career and presently serves as Chairman of the Book Industry Study Group’s Board of Directors.
