Susan Harwood
Vice President of Information Technology, Books-A-Million
As Vice President of
Information Technology for Books A Million, Inc. since September of 2001, Susan
Harwood is responsible for all technology initiatives for Books A Million,
American Wholesale Book Company, and BAMM.com. Prior to Books A Million, Ms.
Harwood was CIO of Crown Books, in Landover, Maryland from 1999-2001, having
served that company as Director of Corporate Systems and then Vice President of
Information Systems, from 1996 to 1999.
Ms. Harwood holds a BA in
Sociology and Computer Science from The College of William and Mary. She
has over 20 years’ experience in IT systems development, with nearly 15 years in
the retail industry, and has been an active participant within the book
industry, BISAC and the Book Industry Study Group since 1995.
