Michael Healy

Executive Director, Book Industry Study Group, Inc.

Michael Healy is Executive Director of the Book Industry Study Group, Inc. (BISG), the book industry’s leading trade association for policy, standards and research whose mission is to provide a more informed, empowered and efficient book industry supply chain.

Mr. Healy has 15 years experience in the publishing industry, before which he trained as a librarian. Before joining BISG, he was seven years the Editorial Director of Nielsen Book Services, one of the world's leading providers of information, transaction and market-measurement services to the book trade. Mr. Healy has been involved extensively in the development and management of standards for the book industry. He has served as the Chairman of the International ISBN Agency and chair of its product metadata committee. He is a current member of the ONIX international steering committee and a director of the International DOI Foundation.
