Please join us for the second annual NISO/BISG Forum: The Changing Standards Landscape: Creative Solutions to Your Information Problems. The forum, a partnership between the National Information Standards Organization (NISO) and the Book Industry Study Group, Inc. (BISG) will immediately precede the American Library Association conference in Anaheim, CA

The half-day event – to be held on Friday, June 27th, from 12:30 pm - 4:00 pm in the Anaheim Convention Center, Room 304 A/B – will provide a big-picture look at the development and impact of common solutions-based standards for librarians and publishers. Explaining why standards are important for your organization and how you can get involved, the program will focus on the preparations under way to build standards for tomorrow's digital supply chain.

NISO’s Managing Director, Todd Carpenter, and BISG’s Executive Director, Michael Healy, will lead the forum through three main areas of standards development:
  • Identify & Describe
  • Discover & Retrieve
  • Comply & Use
The confirmed speakers to discuss these important initiatives in standardization will be:
  • Brian Green, Executive Director, EDItEUR
  • Tina Feick, Consultant and Co-Chair, NISO I2 (Institutional Identifiers) Working Group
  • Clifford A. Lynch, Executive Director, Coalition for Networked Information (CNI)
Additional speakers will be confirmed shortly. Topics will include identifiers for digital publications, authors, and institutions; standards for delivering online book content and knowledge bases; and an update on ACAP and ONIX-PL.
