Developed jointly by BISAC, BIC and EDItEUR these XML EDI transaction document formats will mirror and extend the functionality of existing X12, TRADACOMS and EDIFACT messages for the book trade and library sectors.

In each case, the Outline Specification is recommended as an introduction to the format and the functionality which it supports. The XML Schema contains text files which together constitute a formal definition allowing standard XML software to parse, verify and operate on the content of correctly formulated EDItX messages.
