Celebrate, Learn, Network...
When BISG was first founded 36 years ago, personal computers were not yet in homes, the Internet was a government defense project, and all books were printed on paper and sold exclusively through retail stores.
Over the past 36 years, the very foundations on which our industry securely rested for the better part of a century have being torn down and built anew. The proliferation of multi-function devices capable of rendering everything from plain black-and-white text to full-color, design-intensive and interactive content, and connecting us to one another via the social graph, has changed not only the way we access content, but the way we communicate, find information, and live our lives.
As the industry has changed, so too has BISG. We've grown stronger and more innovative. We've embraced digitization while reaffirming our commitment to printed products and physical distribution. And we've stretched our reach across borders and around the world.
At the September 28th, 2012 Annual Meeting of Members, BISG members celebrated all we've accomplished over the past 12 months, while we planned for the future together.
