PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Organizations across the publishing supply chain use BISAC Subject Headings to determine where books are shelved in a bricks-and-mortar store or the genre under which they can be searched for in an internal or online database. Putting the correct BISAC Heading on your book can ensure that it efficiently finds its way into the hands of a happy reader. On the other hand, an incorrectly coded book can end up in a forgotten corner of the bookstore or website, surrounded by dissimilar titles.
This 60-minute BISG Webcast covered:
- What's new in the 2012 Edition of the BISAC Subject Headings List.
- Best practices for choosing BISAC Headings for your book; what distributors and retailers are looking for.
- What you should do if you can't find the BISAC Code you want.
- What's on the agenda for the 2013 Edition.
