PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Consumer Attitudes Toward E-Book Reading is an ongoing consumer research project begun by BISG in 2009. Over the course of three Volumes, this significant study has fielded a dozen surveys which, taken as a whole, track how and why e-books and other forms of digital content have entered the publishing mainstream.
During this 60-minute webcast, Steve Paxhia, chief analyst for the Consumer Attitudes Toward E-Book Reading project, presented data from the most recent report in this survey series.
A tremendous amount of valuable data has been gathered by this project; this webcast explored answers to the following questions:
- What categories and genres have seen the biggest impact from digital publishing? Which categories and genres lag? Why?
- Where are consumers buying their e-books?
- Is bigger still better? Is there any room in the market for smaller players?
- What are the driving forces that affect e-book acceptance among consumers?
- How are various forms of mobile devices being used for reading books? Is there evidence that they are eroding the levels of reading behavior?
- How does the US e-book and digital device market differ from international markets? How should publishers be pursuing international markets?
- What factors will shape the evolution of this market for the next few years?
