PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Join BISG for a live webcast introducing PanThema, the first ever global subject classification system for books.
Intended for use by all book industry stakeholders, PanThema, or Thema for short, is a flexible standard that allows each market to retain its unique cultural voice within a unified global hierarchy that rationalizes book classification. The goal of Thema is to reduce confusion about subject classification for both upstream and downstream trading partners, while helping companies expand their business more seamlessly overseas.
During this live, 60-minute webcast, speakers from Thema's international Board of Directors and the Working Group that created the standard will explain how it developed, its implications for current BISAC Subject Headings users, and ultimately, how it will facilitate the sale of more books.
