Webcast program description:

Over the past decade, even the deeply-ingrained publisher/printer relationships have been transformed by digital technologies. The changes go well beyond the obvious issue of e-books. The evolution of printing technology, such as digital, ink-jet, and now printing 'robots' in stores and libraries, opens up significant new opportunities for publishers. These include:

-- new business models,
-- streamlined workflow,
-- high-quality print-on-demand solutions, and
-- efficiencies across manufacture, distribution and retail.

Digital printing technologies and their increasing levels of automation allow publishers to meet consumer needs, drive down supply chain costs, and respond more quickly to market shifts than ever before.

In this 60-minute BISG webcast, Joe Upton (Malloy) and Kent Larson (Bridgeport National Bindery) discuss exciting new dimensions in the oldest relationship in the world of books: publisher and printer.

The session is hosted by Jim Lichtenberg, President of Lightspeed, LLC.

Of relevance to: editorial, manufacturing, distribution, and marketing
