As publishers change the types of products they create, and customers change how they engage, it’s time for the business processes honed in the age of print-only to give way to new ways of thinking, creating and delivering.

Making Information Pay 2011 focused on four essential business processes every company must master in order to become a successful 21st Century publishing enterprise, serving consumers when, where and how they want. These included:

Product development: Attendees learned to minimize costly conversions and QA processes by future-proofing content for all possible formats.

Supply management: Attendees found the key to making content the “needle” found in the virtual “haystack”.

Sales transactions: Attendees learned how to realize the potential of high volume sales through low revenue transactions in a world where “every transaction is a rights transaction”.

Customer loyalty: Attendees found that customer intimacy is more than just holding hands; it is acknowledging customer loyalty, and rewarding it.
