Nadine to serve as full-time Project Coordinator

The Book Industry Study Group (BISG) is pleased to announce that Nadine Vassallo has joined the organization as of October 31, 2011 in the position of Project Coordinator. The role of the Project Coordinator will be to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines in support of BISG's research, event, and standards development portfolios.

Nadine has gained valuable insight into all aspects of the contemporary publishing industry through previous employment with Penguin, Phaidon Press, and Borders. At the Penguin Speakers Bureau, Nadine worked with Penguin's bestselling authors across multiple divisions and imprints. She coordinated events for authors such as Frank Bruni and Greg Mortenson, handling scheduling, logistics, contracts, and book sales. She also managed the PSB website and presence on Penguin Community, an in-house social network.

As Program Coordinator for Columbia University's Institute for Research on Women and Gender, Nadine oversaw her department's transition from a print to e-newsletter, redesigned its website, and developed and implemented a social media strategy. Managing these projects from start to finish, Nadine demonstrated creativity, initiative, and solid decision-making skills. She also became an advocate for digital media within the department, advising faculty of best practices and trends in the field.

Nadine can be reached at 646-336-7141 or nadine@bisg.org.
