BISG's Identification Committee to Explore Work-Level Identifiers

Published: February 7, 2012

BISG members, mark your calendars! Fresh on the heels of BISG's Policy Statement on the Best Practices for Identifying Digital Products, the Identification Committee is ready to begin its next initiative: an exploration into the definition and business drivers behind the implementation of a Work-Level Identifier.

BISG members are invited to join the Identification Committee as it kicks off this new initiative on Tuesday, March 20, 2012, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. eastern, in New York City (location to be determined). A phone/WebEx link will also be available. For those of you planning to attend in person, lunch will be served.

Please click here to register now.

Meeting details and an agenda will be provided closer to the meeting date.

To get a better sense of the industry's attitudes toward and current use of Work-Level Identifiers, BISG will be conducting a brief survey later this month to gather data on the types of Work-Level Identifiers being used today, how and why they are used, perceived benefits and drawbacks, etc. Look for more information about the survey soon.

For more information on the activities of BISG's Identification Committee, or to participate in the pilot program, please contact Karen Forster at karen@bisg.org or 646-336-7141.
