The average age of book buyers today is 45, according to the Book Industry Study Group, and while 50 percent of Americans over the age of 13 bought a book in 2008, the Association of American Publishers found that overall book sales were down by 2.8 percent. And remember, the younger the book reader and buyer, the more likely his or her bibliophilia emerged in the age of Amazon. . ."
