Publishing Technology's CEO George Lossius to demystify 'technology in business' at Making Information Pay 2010 conference, New York City
Published in: Publishing Technology Press Releases
"London, UK, Thursday 6th May, 2010 -- George Lossius, CEO of Publishing Technology, the largest global provider of software and services to the publishing industry, will today address leading professionals on the technological 'time bombs and tipping points' at the heart of book business today, at The Book Industry Study Group's Making Information Pay 2010 conference in New York City.
At the helm of a global IT provider to the book and journals publishing industries, Lossius oversees functions in the European market as well as North and South America, and is exceptionally positioned to tackle one of the paralyzing challenges of the current environment: how publishers can make substantial investments in technology when the business climate is changing so quickly around them.
Lossius will detail the differences between the familiar and the unknown, the past and the present, and his topics will include:
- The systems needs of the future vs. those of the past
- The key business flexibility criteria of the future
- The speed of change
- Systems to bundle data & content
George Lossius, CEO, Publishing Technology, says: "Making Information Pay focuses on the best practices driving the success of industry leaders today and therefore presents an ideal opportunity to highlight the challenges and opportunities that technology offers in today's business environment. IT understanding is no longer the province of the IT department. We live in a technological age and all of us need to have a level of understanding of it in order to capitalise on it. Whilst the digital era may still seem young in the books industry, it is mature enough for us to know enough about tomorrow to be able to make very solid judgements on fundamental needs of publishing businesses."
