Mindy Im Appointed BISG Marketing Director
New York, NY (March 22, 2011) -- The Book Industry Study Group (BISG) is pleased to announce that Mindy Im has been appointed to the newly created position of Marketing Director. In this position, Ms. Im will be responsible for membership outreach, media relations, and overall organization branding, as well as general project management across a wide scope of BISG activities.
Ms. Im has been a marketing executive within the publishing industry for over ten years. Most recently, she was Associate Director of Marketing at Hachette Book Group, where she worked with the sales management team to define and execute effective title marketing campaigns; managed sales and marketing projects across multiple product lines; spearheaded the adult library and academic marketing efforts; and planned and attended industry conferences and trade shows.
Prior to Hachette, Ms. Im served as Marketing Manager at Viking, a division of Penguin Group USA, where she helped launch Sue Monk Kidd's The Secret Life of Bees and Geraldine Brooks' Year of Wonders, and worked with bestselling authors including Elizabeth Gilbert, Nathaniel Philbrick, Terry McMillan, among others.
"Mindy's marketing savvy and broad understanding of our industry will be an asset to the BISG team and its membership," said BISG Executive Director, Scott Lubeck.
