BISG Recruits Healy

By Michael Cader (Publishers Lunch) -- The Book Industry Study Group has completed their search for a new executive director to replace Jeff Abraham, naming Michael Healy to the post. Healy has been editorial director of Nielsen Book Services in the UK. He also serves as chair of the International ISBN Agency, chair of the international committee responsible for revising the ISBN standard, and is a director of BIC (Book Industry Communication), the UK book trade's standards body. He will give the keynote speech at the BISG's upcoming annual meeting on September 8.

Healy notes in the announcement: "Many parts of our industry are in a period of transforming change. Going forward, BISG will play a key role in defining new standards for the digital age while strengthening and extending those already in place. Building consensus as we seek to encourage greater efficiency in the evolving supply chain will continue to be a major focus for BISG."
