READ THE PRESS RELEASE:

College Faculty Continue Their Love Affair with Print Textbooks (04/18/2012)

Introducing the newest research from BISG!

An important piece of companion research alongside BISG's Student Attitudes Toward Content in Higher Education, this survey of 2,097 higher-ed faculty members -- conducted in February 2012 and published in April 2012 -- sheds meaningful light on the changing role of the traditional print textbook as the foundational tool for instruction.

The findings provide actionable responses to the following questions from faculty currently teaching at for-profit, two- and four-year colleges:

  • What are the top 5 criteria used when selecting material for your courses?
  • How has your reliance on a printed textbook changed over the past few years?
  • Do you believe that publishers are providing adequate information about the format and price options for students during the content selection process?
  • Do you use publisher-provided homework managers and/or grade books for this course? Why or why not?
  • And many more!...
