Professional Bio

For almost 20 years, I’ve dedicated my career in both journal and book production to the American Psychological Association. There I developed my skillset and grew as both a person and a leader. During my tenure, I’ve rolled out a new journal production tracking system, expanded the books’ printing by establishing a Print on Demand option for our Academic and Professional imprint, and has saved APA Publishing 1.4 million annually within my first three years of management by reexamining print vendors. The implementation of these initiatives improved workflows, lowered our carbon imprint, and reduced costs to the benefit of the association.

I find it’s also important to not only contribute to the publishing industry but also to my community and profession. I serve on the Board of Directors for the Book Industry Study Group (BISG) as well as two of their committees, Supply Chain and Workflow. I also serve on the Board of Directors for the Largo Landing Fellowship House and Psi Chi International Honor Society’s Alumni Steering Committee.

I also earned my BA from Bowie State University in Psychology, graduating within the top 10% of my class and became a member of three different honor societies: Alpha Chi National Honor Society, Alpha Kappa Mu Honor Society, and Psi Chi International Honor Society. In addition, I earned my MA in Counseling Psychology from Trinity Washington University. I’m also a member of the ACLU and a donor to The Salvation Army USA. As well as dedicate time to raising awareness of multiple sclerosis via The National Multiple Sclerosis Society and Parkinson’s diseases via The Parkinson’s Foundation.
