Accessible Book Publishing: A Roundup of Trusted Tools and Resources
Finding the Right Resources for Accessible Publishing
Are you frustrated by accessibility resource pages that focus on websites rather than the specific needs of EPUBs, PDFs, and digital books? Join accessibility expert Laura Brady for a practical tour of trustworthy, book-publishing-specific accessibility resources, tools, and guidance.
With accessibility requirements increasingly affecting publishers and their partners, knowing where to find reliable information—and how to put it into practice—is more important than ever.
Laura will highlight resources that can save time and support accessible publishing workflows, while sharing recent developments and lessons drawn from her extensive experience working with publishers.
The session will also explore some of the practical challenges publishers are encountering across the supply chain, including:
- Accessibility statements that are truncated or incomplete
- Metadata that indicates a title’s accessibility is “unknown” or “not accessible”
- Keeping accessibility metadata accurate and consistent across ONIX, MARC, and other systems
- Identifying and remediating backlist titles that were created before current accessibility standards and practices
Whether you’re developing accessible ebooks, managing metadata, working with backlist content, or simply trying to understand where to turn for reliable guidance, this webinar will help you cut through the noise and find resources you can actually use.
Who Should Attend:
Publishers, ebook developers, production and workflow professionals, metadata specialists, librarians, distributors, retailers, and service providers looking for practical, book-specific guidance on accessible content and accessibility metadata.
