A Supply Chain Lunch & Learn

Tuesday, August 5, 2025
12:00 PM - 1:00 PM (EDT)
This webinar will be held via Zoom.
Category: Supply Chain Lunch & Learn Series

Join our August Supply Chain Lunch & Learn for a timely discussion on tariffs, trade policy shifts, and what it all means for publishing’s domestic production and global procurement strategies.

As tariff frameworks continue to evolve—and the 90-day grace period winds down—U.S. publishers are beginning to feel the real impact of duties on imported consumables critical to domestic manufacturing. With costs rising and sourcing strategies under pressure, understanding the current tariff landscape is more urgent than ever.

In this session, JACK STEVENS and KELLY MORRISON of Woodland Group will provide a deep dive into today’s tariff environment, focusing on how recent changes are affecting supply chains, particularly for U.S. book production. They’ll explore what publishers need to know now, including the ripple effects on paper, ink, manufacturing equipment, and other consumables, and offer insights into how international logistics partners can help navigate uncertainty.

Following the presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to share their own questions and experiences in an open discussion aimed at clarifying challenges and identifying practical strategies moving forward. Whether you’re directly managing production or working to understand how trade policy affects your publishing operations, this conversation promises timely insights and a valuable forum for shared learning.

Featured Speakers

JACK STEVENS's journey with Woodland began in the U.K. and has taken him through Hong Kong to the U.S., where he now serves as President. Jack states, "In this role, I’m proud to continue strengthening Woodland’s longstanding ties to the book industry, working closely with our customers on their supply chain challenges. I’m especially pleased to contribute to this webinar, having unfortunately missed the BISG Annual Meeting in April."

KELLY MORRISON joined the industry in 1988 and became a licensed U.S. Customs Broker in 1993. She currently serves as Vice President of Brokerage at Woodland. Kelly has been active in the local brokerage community, including serving as FDA Chairperson for JFK. She has participated in both the National Customs Committee and the Participating Agency Committee, and is passionate about helping Woodland customers stay informed and compliant — "It’s one of the most rewarding parts of what I do," she says.

About the Supply Chain Lunch & Learn Series

BISG's Supply Chain Lunch & Learns are always highly interactive, so you'll have a chance to contribute at the session. If you have any specific questions you'd like us to cover in this Lunch & Learn, you may send them in advance to info@bisg.org or simply add them to the chat during the session.

To allow participants to speak—and not just type questions—these sessions are conducted in a Zoom meeting (rather than webinar) format. Please take a moment to ensure that your microphone is muted until you'd like to contribute. While we encourage you to attend the live session, the conversation will be recorded and shared with registrants after the session takes place.
