The Book Industry Study Group is coming to Portland!

This September, BISG is bringing its mission and expertise to the West Coast.

Join us for a gathering designed to connect publishing professionals across the publishing supply chain.


What to Expect:

  • Welcome & Introductions

  • Industry Programming: conversations on pressing topics like supply chain, metadata, rights, sustainability, and more. We'll hear from:

    • Nellie McKesson, Founder of Hederis
      Hederis was the winner of the 2023 BISG Industry Innovator Award. Hederis builds custom tools and out-of-the-box apps to solve modern publishing problems like content transformation, content workflows and distribution, layout and production, and more.
    • Joe Biel, Founder and CEO, Microcosm Publishing
      Joe Biel is a self-made autistic publisher who draws origins, inspiration, and methods from punk rock to sell millions of books. Biel is the founder and CEO of Microcosm Publishing, Publishers Weekly's #1 fastest-growing publisher of 2022 and #3 in 2023/2024, and WorkingLit, the software responsible for Microcosm's aforementioned success—now available for other publishers.
