Rights Committee Meeting
Monthly meeting of the BISG Rights Committee (registration required)
The BISG Rights Committee meets monthly via Zoom. Chaired by Kris Kliemann of Kliemann & Company, the committee works to develop, maintain, and advocate for industry-wide best practices for book-industry rights professionals. If you have specific topics or ideas you’d like to discuss during the meeting, feel free to share them in advance. An agenda and meeting materials will be distributed prior to the session.
The Rights Committee is focusing on the following deliverables in 2026, but new topics are always welcome:

Organizing and hosting the annual Doing Rights Right event in New York City

Advocating for industry-wide adoption of the Translation Rights Royalty Statement Standard, with targeted outreach to publishers, agents, and industry partners

Advancing and supporting the Book Publishing Next initiative to modernize industry standards, including broader adoption of the Translation Rights Royalty Statement Standard and exploration of additional standards for rights

Rethinking, updating, and publishing the Rights Solutions Providers List
Registration is required for all committee members in order to receive the Zoom meeting details and is restricted to current members of the committee; please sign up to attend.
