Transforming Supply Chain Communication

Posted By: Brian F. O'Leary Announcements,

The BISG Annual Meeting provides companies from across the supply chain with a unique opportunity to hear about and discuss opportunities that improve the book industry. This year's theme, "Transforming Supply Chain Communication", will address the changes needed across the data stack, tech stack, and communications protocols across the book industry supply chain.

Not familiar with data stacks and tech stacks? This gathering is still right for you. The meeting content will address the problems we all face in creating, managing, disseminating, and retrieving information, whether it's metadata, rights data, sales reporting, inventory management, and more.

The day will begin with a recap of a BISG project on forecasting, now under way. From there, we'll talk about lessons learned, take-aways for the book business, and examples of roadblocks that could be eliminated with new or different approaches to metadata, rights, and sales reporting.

The day will also include opportunities to hear from recipients of three BISG awards (the Sally Dedecker Award for Lifetime Service, our Industry Champion Award, and the Industry Innovator Award). A vote will be held to elect members of the BISG board to two-year terms starting in July.

Early-bird registration is open now for both members ($349) and non-members ($449). These prices will increase by $50 after March 17. Group registrations and tables are also available; contact the office  for details.

The program is being developed now, with announcements planned over the next three weeks. Look for updates on the event page, on the BISG web site, and in more blog posts like this one.
