A Different Kind of Annual Meeting: Join BISG’s Virtual Town Hall on April 30
In a milestone year for the Book Industry Study Group,
we’re doing things a little differently.
This year marks 50 years of bringing the publishing industry together to solve shared challenges. But before we celebrate, it’s time to connect, reflect, and help shape what comes next.
On Thursday, April 30, BISG invites all members to take part in a Virtual Town Hall Annual Meeting—an interactive, members-only forum hosted by BISG’s Board of Directors.
This event is designed to be more open, more engaging, and more reflective of the collaborative community that defines BISG.
A Meeting Built for Conversation
We’ll cover the important updates: how BISG is doing, where we’re headed, and what’s planned for the year ahead. BISG leadership will share highlights from the past year, talk through priorities and challenges, and outline a vision for the future. From there, the conversation turns to you.
There will be time for questions, feedback, and discussion. The goal is simple: create a setting where members feel informed, heard, and involved in shaping what comes next.
What We’ll Cover
Over the course of the Town Hall, you’ll hear about:
- BISG’s current state and recent progress
- Financial performance and the proposed FY2027 budget
- Strategic priorities, including Book Publishing Next and BISG@50 initiatives
- Updates from BISG’s committees, spanning metadata, rights, supply chain, workflow, and more
Members will also take part in two important votes:
- Approving the budget for the coming fiscal year
- Electing new and returning members of the Board of Directors
And, as always, we’ll take a moment to recognize the people who help make BISG’s work possible, including outgoing board members and the many volunteers across our committees.
Why You Should Attend
At its best, BISG works because its members show up.
The Town Hall is a chance to:
- Get a clearer picture of where the organization stands
- Hear directly from leadership about what’s ahead
- Ask questions and offer your perspective
- Stay connected to the broader BISG community
Whether you’ve been involved for years or are newer to BISG, your voice is part of what makes this organization work.
Join Us!
We encourage all BISG members to take part in this one-of-a-kind event. We hope you’ll be part of the conversation!
