BISG West Coast Tour — Week of September 8
The Book Industry Study Group is heading west!
Over the course of one week, we’ll be hosting gatherings in Seattle, Portland, and San Francisco, bringing our mission and expertise directly to publishing professionals on the West Coast.
The goal of these events is simple but ambitious: to strengthen relationships across the supply chain by creating space for dialogue, learning, and connection. At each stop, we’ll combine timely programming with opportunities for open conversation, spotlighting regional voices while also sharing updates on the work BISG is leading nationally.
Attendees can expect a dialogue on some of the most pressing issues facing our industry today—whether that’s supply chain resilience, metadata standards, rights management, or sustainability. Our intention is to create a format that is both informative and collaborative, where local professionals can learn from one another and from BISG’s broader initiatives.
These gatherings are designed for anyone with a stake in the future of publishing: trade, academic, and independent publishers; printers and manufacturers; libraries and distributors; retailers and technology partners; nonprofits and educators. By bringing together such a wide range of voices, we hope to surface shared challenges, uncover new opportunities, and build a stronger sense of community across the regions shaping the next generation of publishing.
The West Coast Tour is also a reflection of BISG’s broader strategic priorities. As we work to grow and diversify our membership, we’re committed to creating more opportunities for underrepresented and emerging voices to join the conversation.
We hope you’ll join us! If you’re interested in helping shape these gatherings—whether by contributing or lending your support—please reach out to us at info@bisg.org.
We look forward to connecting with our West Coast colleagues and to building together the collaborative, inclusive, and forward-looking publishing ecosystem our industry needs.
