Providing BISG Members With Access to Health Insurance and Prescription Drug Benefits

Posted By: Brian F. O'Leary Announcements,

As part of the Book Industry Health Insurance Partnership (BIHIP), BISG members have access to health insurance and prescription drug benefits through LIG Solutions. You are a BISG member if you are an employee of a member organization and have a BISG account or if you have an individual paid membership. If you are not a current member, the BIHIP benefits are available immediately upon becoming a member of BISG.

LIG’s extensive knowledge of the health insurance market provides BISG members with assistance in navigating a wide array of insurance options, including Medicare, ACA-compliant major medical, Medicare/supplements, short-term policies, vision, dental, critical care, and other coverage. If you are a business owner, LIG can offer coverage for your W2 employees and their families through LIG’s Group HRA Program.

The Open Enrollment Period for 2022 health coverage opened November 1 and runs through December 15th for policies with a January 1, 2022 start date, and through January 15, 2022 for policies with a February 1, 2022 start date. For individuals over 65, Medicare Enrollment, AEP, ends on December 7th, 2021. For residents of New York and California, Medicare open enrollment extends to January 2022. Outside of the open enrollment period, options are limited, but LIG Solutions can walk you through options to "bridge" coverage through the rest of the year.

BISG members also have access to LIG Solutions Rx, a national pharmacy program that is for low-cost access to prescription drugs. You do not have to be enrolled in a LIG insurance plan to participate in the prescription drug program. The cost-effective monthly membership program (*not* a discount/savings card or insurance) has real pharmacists, focused on helping members achieve the highest quality of life through medication, counseling, education, and adherence to the latest pharmacology standards.

To learn more about the benefits described here, you can request a consultation with LIG or contact them directly. To do so, access the LIG contact page though BISG(login required).
